I once left a can of Campbell's vegetable soup on the stove so long that all the soup evaporated, (lil crunchy veg and pasta was all that was left at the bottom of the charred pot), the plastic handle on the glass lid was drooping downward/inward and the pot itself was filled with the toxic smoke of melted plastic. I felt good about that one.
