You know, I walk in the library and subconsciously try so hard to avoid getting static shocks...I touch the wood paneling on my way to the evelator after I've passed the security barriers.
But just now, after a three-minute jaunt through the book stacks as I take a telephone call, I stopped briefly at the water fountain and got zapped. You know what? I enjoyed the throw-back. It wasn't one of those painful shocks, either, the one where you SEE the electricity jump, blue and white, from the metal to your hand.
Memories!

I feel like it is a special brand of specialists (studiers, library-ites) who know (not just know about) this shocking. It could be a facebook group.
