Because my sister and I, in different cities & at different points in our days, could have the following conversation.
Me: Did you see Glee last week?
Her: yuhuh
Me: Did you die three times and melt into a pile of chocolate?
Her: Yes!
Me: Sigh.
Her: Actually i think i cried a little.
Me: I wouldn't fault you for it.
Her: Next week is all Gaga.
Me: I know. I'm scary.*
Her: Gleek!
*"I'm scary" is one of the many surviving instances of misspeaking from childhood. This one belonged to my brother who a handful of times said, "I'm scary" when he meant, "I'm scared."

triet VIII
something that not one of my five senses enjoys: wet garbage.
thing I never experienced as a child but imagine the adult version is essentially the same: the walk to the gallows. when you are as guilty as the pope is Catholic and you have to make that painstakingly long trek around the corner or across the room. in my case I was coming up the stairs. time was standing very still, it was quiet and my head was swirling. when I finally made eye-contact I shriveled up even smaller as my heart sank a little.
thing I like: cheddar cheese (size old).

My Jesus, My Savior
Lord, there is none like You
There is something mysteriously calming for me about spending time with the Lord. Alright, it's barely mysterious. It's like an anchor amidst a chaotic fornight, for me. It's a blessing. I predicted this would happen about 10 days ago...I don't like feeling tired in the present and simultaneously tired in the future. But it happens. And....God is my anchor. I wish I remembered that and moored there more often.
I can't believe I feel so refreshed and new and different. Such a turn-around inside two hours is pretty cool.
I love answered prayer. I'm not a huge fan of firearms. Today is my first experience of MacGuyver. It's.....pretty bad, worse than expected. But five minutes into the second episode I'm still wiling to have my opinion changed. In the mean time I'm enjoying being educated on part of the television canon (or at least classic television). It's on the Must-Know list just as much as Catcher in the Rye is a Must-Know of literature.
But...too many puns. And those cookies being baked smell heavenly. Phew...God bless America.

I'm not a typical tourist.
(Might you have guessed that?)
I don't want to see what TOURISTS come to see -- necessarily. I want to see what the natives do. I want to experience their location from their perspective. I guess that's not..what tourism is about, EXACTLY.
I think this will probably change later in my life. I'm happy to attend tourist attractions if I'm traveling with someone who's interested. And I almost never go abroad when I don't know someone in the destination. Maybe...just..the UK, actually is the time I've done that. And I went with people I knew so that hardly counts. I like people more than places and things. (That sentence was brought to you buy the simplified definition of the word "noun".)
I think I like Seattle but I donno why yet. I think I am loving the favorable weather I've seen in all three cities I've been in since Frides because my neck of the woods has been overcast and drizzly for a while. These skies are CLEAR upon clear upon clear. I feel like the air itself is cleaner as well though I'm not sure if that's true. Hmm.
I hope I have more to say later.
Ah - no I also visited a couple cities in Scotland during my final weeks there when I had no work to do. Yes, I went to Stirling and to Dundee (I think it was Dundee, geez...) on my own without knowing anyone in those cities. I definitely went for the sake of going and to see some tourish attractions. Gotta say: best part was seeing the William Wallace MONSTER statue from miles away. It truly is impressive. I love history. And lore.

I left my house in Guelph around 20h30 on Thursday evening. It was 13h30 before I got off the ferry in Victoria, BC on Friday.
It's been a long day. But something about this city likes me. I haven't figured out the province yet but I'm working on it.
All things considered, I feel pretty good. And...I'm grateful to God for allowing me this pleasant trip, though it's barely a day old. I still can't get over the fact that I'm emailing someone in Guelph from a phone somewhere between Vancouver and Victoria. ...On a boat?! Really??
Technology.
Nothing else to say. (Ever.)

I donno if I've ever wondered if it's possible to be tired of everything at once..but now I have an answer.
In other news, if God is giving me little habitual and inexpensive delights these past few months because He's leading me where it potentially looks like He could be leading me..then I'm amazed. I promise not to jump the gun but I'll be excited over here in the corner.
I cannot beLIEVE I am actually tired of planning. That's actually one of my favorite sports but I DEF need a break from it right soon.
Brother...I CRAVE sleep. I actually planned on the bus earlier this evening to sleep in on Sunday the 16th. Holy GOODNESS it's going to be glorious. I'm going to try to go to bed at like..2130. Mooaaha. I'm excited.
Why am I even writing this stuff?? It's not interesting. I just wanted to get some words out.

Ooh, that's just not fair.
On the Colbert Report, there was a small amount of (doctored) footage from a Squongebob Squarepants episode, and later the image of Sbob himself appeared on the screen while Stephen talked about using the dome (the pineapple house) to suck oil out of ocean and a sponge, as well, to clean up the massive spill.
It took me a second to clue in but...it's definitely the first time I've seen those two characters together. It was a bit of a sensory overload, like finding out that your two favorite desserts can be combined, perhaps one stuffed inside the other. Tasty!

Dear Hyundai Santa Fe,
I miss you already. Had you for less than 24 hours but I miss you for realz.
We did well together, did we not?
I'm happy to see you guzzle gas conservatively. I'm enthralled by how fast your zero-to-sixty is. I've never driven a vehicle that responded so well to my need to merge at the last minute.
I appreciate that you are deceptively small/big. (How to express that?) It's technically an SUV - which I always thought I'd never drive - but this felt good. Heck - it even felt right.
I think a new era is dawning. I'm ready for my own vehicle. Santa Fe, you've been instrumental in pushing me past several barriers in this regard. For that I thank you.
You know what? You might even be the right one. For my lifestyle, it seems that a zippy compact would be good. But maybe I was wrong. Every time I looked back and saw those three empty seats, I thought of three younger siblings who could easily fill them.
I'm glad that access to motorized vehicles allows me to build my relationships with my family. What a way to turn material into immaterial.
SUV... could be me. Even my Dad said, "it suits you, hon!" Indeed. Indeed.
In the words of Wayne Campbell, It will be mine. Oh yes -- it will be mine.
Or maybe in the words of Mariah Carey: Ooh - baby, baby, we belong toGEther...
Either way,
JK
