His guest is the CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt.

The CEO of Google. After Colb sits down and say his hello, he announces, "Thank you for coming on..so I could put another notch in my billionaire belt." And what amazes me is that Stephen was able to intimidate this man! Whatever that's about...

Awesome out-of-the-blue question Colbert posed: "At what point will Google's algorithm become self-aware and turn on its masters?"

Fantastic exchange:
Colbert: "Your slogan is... [searching in his cards]"
Schmidt: "Don't be evil."
Colbert: "'Don't be evil', yes. [beat] Google's stock right now is $513.46. [beat] How low do your stock shares have to drop before you say, '...OK, we're goin with evil'?"
Schmidt: "Never. We didn't go with evil when our stock was worth nothing.."
Colbert (overlapping, sounding pious): "All men are sinners..."
Schmidt (finally breaking slightly from the intimidation, with an intensely matter-of-fact tone): "We're a company."
Colbert (immediately): "Companies are people -- welcome to America."


Ahh, fantastic.
